Subsequently, a vehicle traveling south on Metcalf Avenue collided with the cyclist within the intersection.

The Overland Park Police Department confirmed through their spokesperson that the cyclist, identified as Desmond Robinson, a 25-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, did not survive the incident. The driver involved in the collision was reported to be uninjured and was assisting authorities with their ongoing investigation.
