Fatal Tallmadge shooting death of Dennis Vietmier
Police have confirmed that the 75-year-old Dennis Vietmier, who was fatally shot on July 6, has been identified. His son, Ryan Vietmier, a 43-year-old, reported the incident initially, stating that he had taken action against his father, leading to the older man’s death.
The authorities were alerted at 11:13 a.m. to a disturbance at Cynthia Lane in the 500 block area. According to the caller, Ryan Vietmier, he had discharged a firearm and found his father unresponsive. Dennis Vietmier, who suffered injuries to his chest from the gunshot, was rushed to Summa Health hospital but was declared dead shortly after arriving at 11:45 a.m., as per the Summit County Medical Examiner’s findings.
Upon arriving at the scene on Cynthia Lane, responding officers apprehended Ryan Vietmier without any issues. He has been formally accused of murder and domestic violence. Ryan appeared in Stow Municipal Court on July 7 for his initial court appearance.
Currently, the suspect is being held at the Summit County Jail.
