ELTON, La. (NEWS 15) — Tragically, a local woman in her mid-thirties has lost her life following a serious highway mishap within Jeff Davis Parish.
Law enforcement authorities from the Louisiana State Police Troop D confirmed that Chelsea Wilson, who was 36 years old and a resident of Eunice, perished as a result of the collision.
These officers detailed that the accident transpired on a stretch of U.S. Highway 190 near Bornsdall Road, a point situated between the towns of Elton and Basile.
According to preliminary reports, Wilson was operating her 2005 Toyota pickup truck, a Tacoma model, along a westbound route when the vehicle veered across the central divider and collided with a tree. Further details indicate that Wilson was not secured by a seatbelt at the moment of impact and did not survive the crash.
