Fatal El Paso County shooting death of Rylee Ferari
The El Paso County law enforcement agency announced on July 3 that two individuals were killed in a nighttime shooting incident.
Law enforcement personnel were dispatched to an area along Highway 85 close to Main Street in the unincorporated section of El Paso County that day due to a reported crime.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a car abandoned by the roadside on Highway 85 or 87, with two people deceased inside.
The El Paso County official in charge of postmortem examinations identified the victims as a 24-year-old female named Rylee Ferari and a minor who was 16 at the time.
On July 4, authorities in Denver apprehended the accused, who is 23 years old and identified as Eddie Lacharles Jackson, at a major airport.
The law enforcement team at that airport took Jackson into custody on suspicion of two murder charges.
He was formally charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting incident.
Jackson is currently being held at a local detention facility with a financial guarantee of $500,000 that must be paid in cash.
