Waterloo authorities have formally accused a minor following a violent incident during the Independence Day holiday period. The unfortunate event occurred in the early hours of Sunday evening, when emergency services were dispatched to the Mulberry Street area due to gunfire reported in that vicinity.
Upon arrival, responders discovered an initial female sufferer with a bullet wound. Further investigation led them to another individual on the adjacent block who was also injured by a firearm. The male individual, later identified as A’ Tarion Key ‘Won De ‘Shawn Spates, a 20-year-old, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The female survivor was taken to a regional medical center and is expected to make a full recovery from her non-critical injuries. Law enforcement officials have arrested a 15-year-old male, Kam’Ron Antonio Tauheed Hampton, in connection with these events. He faces multiple serious charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of the crime.
