In the early morning hours of Friday, a car accident in west Phoenix resulted in the deaths of a person walking and her dog, and the driver is still unknown. Emergency services were dispatched to the area along 51st Avenue just north of Broadway Road at about 1 a.m.
When responders arrived, they found the woman and the dog with severe injuries. Medical professionals at the scene confirmed that both victims had passed away immediately.
Investigators later determined that the deceased woman was Brittany Geib, who was 29 years old. The exact vehicles involved are not yet clear, but it is believed that a Toyota Tacoma might have hit them first, and a separate Toyota Camry could have struck the scene afterward.
