Police authorities in Denver have apprehended a suspect identified as Marisol Infante, 29, connected to a fatal hit-and-run incident on I-25. According to investigators, Infante was the driver involved in striking and killing a man who was attending to a tire issue on the roadside near 6th Avenue.
The official incident report indicates the collision transpired shortly before 7 a.m. on July 5, impacting the southbound lanes of I-25 located north of the West Alameda Avenue exit. Denver’s Office of the Medical Examiner officially recognized the deceased individual as Carlos Mercado Arzola, aged 52. He sustained a fatal injury after being hit while performing tire maintenance on the shoulder of the highway and consequently passed away.
Investigators confirmed that the suspect, identified as Infante, drove away from the scene without halting or offering any contact details, actions that are legally mandated. The specific conditions surrounding the crash prompted the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to activate a Medina Alert for public assistance.
