DANTE MATAYO JENOURE DIES IN FATAL NASHVILLE SHOOTING

Fatal NASHVILLE shooting death of full name of deceased victim Dante Matayo Jenoure

Metro Nashville police are examining a homicide incident that led to the death of a 26-year-old Bahamian citizen. This fatal shooting happened on Saturday morning at the Preakness Apartments on Bell Road, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department stated that when officers arrived at the scene, the suspect, who is 31 years of age, turned himself in and was taken into custody.

Law enforcement identified the Bahamian man, who was found by authorities in the building’s breezeway with several gunshot injuries, as 26-year-old Dante Matayo Jenoure. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center but unfortunately did not survive his injuries.

Sources told police that the shooting stemmed from an argument over rent payment. Further investigation by the MNPD revealed that the suspect was in a romantic relationship with Jenoure’s roommate.

The MNPD release indicated that both Jenoure and the suspect were equipped with firearms at the time of the incident. It is still not known whether Mr. Jenoure discharged his weapon.

Police took the 31-year-old suspect to MNPD Headquarters for questioning, though at this time no charges have been filed against him.

The investigation is still ongoing, and no further details were made available to the public immediately.
