Puneet Singh Sohi and Premjeet Brar, two adults, lost their lives in a fatal car crash incident.
Fatal Yuba County car crash involving Puneet Singh Sohi and Premjeet Brar.
Two individuals, identified as Puneet Singh Sohi and Premjeet Brar, both aged 41, were confirmed deceased following a severe collision on Highway 70. This head-on accident, occurring shortly after 3 p.m. between the Yuba City and Oroville areas, is now attributed to the improper maneuvering of a southbound vehicle into the northbound lane. The authorities, specifically the sheriff’s departments of Yuba and Butte counties, officially named the victims, who were occupants of a Honda CR-V. Inside the CR-V were the two victims and their two minor children. The California Highway Patrol office in Yuba-Sutter provided further details, noting the northbound Honda CR-V was carrying an 8-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy. A separate southbound vehicle, a Toyota Camry driven by a pair of teenagers aged 18, collided with the CR-V. The occupants of the Camry suffered serious injuries and were transported to medical facilities. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to assist the surviving children from the Honda CR-V crash. The page commemorates Puneet Singh Sohi, described as an IT engineer who enjoyed Punjabi dance, specifically bhangra. His brother-in-law, Narinder Mahal of Roseville, oversaw the fundraiser. The couple’s 8-year-old daughter was referenced on the GoFundMe page. The other victim, Premjeet Brar, was noted as a licensed dentist operating a practice in Rocklin. The fundraiser referred to her by another name, Veenu, highlighting her work as a pediatric dentist dedicated to children’s care. Brar was also recognized for her involvement with Rocklin Academy Gateway’s parent-school connection and was described as gentle and caring. The medical examiners from both Yuba and Butte counties separately reviewed the bodies after the traffic accident. Significant online support was evident as the GoFundMe appeal surpassed the half-million mark, receiving over 1,800 contributions despite the stated target being one million dollars.
