Georgia authorities announced charges of murder against Kelvin Williams following the fatal shooting of his wife at their residence in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Deputies reported that Williams, aged 47, has been arrested and formally accused of murder alongside two counts of aggravated assault concerning the July 13th incident. According to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Williams also faces charges of first-degree child cruelty. Responding to reports of a shooting at the family’s home in Woodstock, investigators discovered Tenisha Williams, who was 48 years old, deceased from gunshot wounds. Williams was apprehended at the crime scene.
The investigation indicates that Williams attempted to fire his weapon at his 16-year-old stepson before successfully shooting his wife, resulting in her death. Law enforcement stated that the shooting incident originated from a domestic conflict. At the time of the incident, the teenager and another child were present in the residence but suffered no injuries. As of July 15th, Williams was held without the possibility of release at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Authorities confirmed that their investigation is currently active and ongoing. Situated approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta, Woodstock serves as the location for this tragic event.
