Fatal Southeast D.C. shooting death of Patrick Cockrell Jr.
Law enforcement authorities have officially identified two individuals who perished in the District of Columbia’s Southeast region during the recent weekend. The deceased are Tiffany Montgomery, who was 38 years old, and Patrick Cockrell Jr., aged 43.
Preliminary information received by authorities indicates that police units were dispatched to a residence located at the 4600 block of G Street, Southeast. This dispatch happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. on July 12. Upon arriving at the premises, responders encountered two individuals inside the dwelling. Both persons were discovered in an unconscious state, not breathing, and were found to have sustained injuries from firearms. Emergency medical services performed resuscitation efforts on the scene, but these attempts were unsuccessful, resulting in the confirmation of both individuals’ deaths.
According to the initial assessment by local law enforcement, the incident appears to be an alleged murder-suicide. Officials stated that the evidence suggests Patrick Cockrell Jr. was the one who fatally shot Tiffany Montgomery, which occurred during an internal family conflict. It is believed that Mr. Cockrell subsequently became the perpetrator of his own death by self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
