Lafourche Parish law enforcement officials, led by Sheriff Craig Webre, confirmed the death of a local man following a shooting that transpired Tuesday afternoon. Vincent Joseph, a 56-year-old Thibodaux resident, succumbed to his injuries sustained during the incident.
Initial reports indicate the incident commenced at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Responding deputies were dispatched to Lasseigne Road in Thibodaux due to the auditory evidence of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered an individual, later confirmed to be Joseph, who had been shot multiple times while occupying a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Lasseigne Road.
Despite sustaining significant gunshot wounds, Joseph allegedly drove away from the immediate scene. His vehicle subsequently veered off the roadway, resulting in a collision with a tree located near the intersection of Louisiana Highway 308 and Louisiana Highway 3185. Emergency medical services were summoned and transported Joseph to a regional medical facility, but his injuries proved fatal.
