Fatal Newburg shooting death of Dunia Tuhenya
The Jefferson County Coroner has officially identified the 17-year-old male who lost his life following a shooting incident in Newburg on Tuesday. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Louisville Metro Police were dispatched to Poplar Level Court, specifically the 300 block, around 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday due to reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, police encountered Dunia Tuhenya, who was reported to have sustained injuries from being shot. The wound was located in his upper body region.
He was transported to a hospital facility, but his injuries ultimately proved fatal.
The official medical report received from the Coroner’s Office indicates that Tuhenya suffered from several gunshot wounds.
Currently, authorities have not apprehended any suspects in connection with this incident.
The Homicide Unit branch of the LMPD is actively examining this case.
