Emergency services in Lake County confronted a severe highway incident involving a solitary motor vehicle collision on Illinois Route 94, close to the Northbrook area, several days ago. The event unfolded Wednesday morning, with state troopers and fire personnel converging on the scene shortly after midday reports surfaced about the crash, which involved multiple individuals requiring medical aid. Upon arrival, responders discovered a minivan, specifically a Toyota Sienna, severely damaged within a construction area on the northbound lanes of I-94, located just beyond Dundee Road.
A passenger inside the vehicle, confirmed to be the 60-year-old Jianzhong Tan from Chicago, was transported to a medical center for urgent treatment, though he did not survive his injuries. Further examination by authorities included an autopsy performed by the local Coroner’s Office, which officially attributed Tan’s death to the impact injuries sustained during the collision.
