Fatal San Antonio car crash death of Rosalia Aguilera and Jose Guerra

San Antonio authorities are actively investigating a serious highway collision on I-35 that resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to over a dozen others. This major accident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the southbound lanes of the interstate, just north of Cassin Road.

Bexar County officials confirmed the identity of two victims on Friday evening: Rosalio Aguilera, aged 69, and Jose Guerra, aged 50. The other two people who lost their lives in this tragedy have not yet been formally identified.

According to initial reports from the San Antonio Police Department, the incident began when a stolen Chevrolet Camaro struck the rear of the bus. This impact caused the vehicle to be struck by an 18-wheeler from the opposite direction. The subsequent collision forced the bus to overturn violently.

Emergency responders reported that several passengers were thrown from the bus during the chaos. As of Friday morning, police confirmed that 16 individuals remained hospitalized following the devastating incident. The wreckage caused significant traffic disruption, bringing the busy highway to a standstill for several hours.

Nearby residents Dina and Gabriel Corral received the news when their cell phones alerted them to the accident. Dina Corral expressed immediate concern upon seeing the notification indicating mandatory detours on the usually busy route. “When it said that everybody had to take a detour, I was, like, ‘This was serious,'” she shared, adding that her view from their home didn’t reveal any unusual activity at the time.

Meanwhile, occupants of the stolen Camaro who had fled the scene continued to be sought by law enforcement. One person of interest was described as carrying an AK-47. Raeneisha Toliver, a local resident, commented on the fear this situation creates, saying, “It’s frightening to know, but (I’m) always being safe.” She also expressed sympathy for families who would receive news of their loved ones’ passing.

The bus company involved has been identified as Transportes Guerra, a Fort Worth-based organization. When contacted Friday morning, a family member of the bus owner acknowledged the connection but declined further comment, promising to send additional information later. Additional details were provided through a public post on the company’s social media page, which confirmed the vehicle was en route from Fort Worth to Mexico at the time of the accident.

For residents in the Corral neighborhood adjacent to the crash site, this incident represents an ongoing period of anxiety until apprehensions are made. Gabriel Corral, whose wife Dina is also waiting for updates, stated, “I hope they catch him.” Both he and his wife emphasized their commitment to remaining “alert, vigilant” until the situation is resolved.
