Fatal Sumter County, S.C. car crash death of Christopher Mickens
Law enforcement officials have confirmed the identity of a man killed during a motor vehicle accident Thursday night in Sumter County. The incident took place on Highway 378 West, close to the Wateree River area.
The local medical examiner reported that emergency personnel discovered the collision approximately at 6:40 p.m. The individual operating the vehicle was identified as Christopher Mickens, a 28-year-old local resident. According to the coroner, Mr. Mickens succumbed to his injuries immediately after the car departed the roadway and entered a wooded region alongside the river.
The county coroner informed the family of their loss. Officials from the South Carolina Highway Patrol are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
