Robert Vanpietersom, a 21-year-old male, has died as a result of injuries sustained in a serious traffic incident. This identification comes following a collision reported Wednesday in Temple.
The fatal traffic incident involving Robert Vanpietersom occurred at the 305 northbound exit in Temple.
Emergency medical services confirmed Mr. Vanpietersom’s death at the scene. He was a passenger in a Honda Civic that had departed the roadway moments earlier.
According to initial reports, the Civic lost control and collided with a substantial concrete pillar supporting a highway sign. Tragically, the vehicle subsequently caught fire.
Northbound traffic was impeded for several hours while authorities collected evidence and conducted an accident reconstruction analysis. The Temple Police Department’s Traffic Division is continuing its investigation into the preliminary causes of the collision on Thursday.
