The Spokane law enforcement agency stated that the female victim succumbed to her injuries, and they are now reviewing the charges against the minor who operated the vehicle.

An additional notice released on July 16th at 12:04 p.m. confirms that the person who was driving the automobile involved in the hit-and-run incident is currently being held in custody. This teenager faces multiple charges.

Following the initial response to the event at approximately 5:30 a.m., which involved a car hitting a pedestrian, police were notified through a subsequent emergency call that the driver had deserted the scene on foot. The vehicle and another passenger were left behind.

The injured pedestrian was transported to a regional medical center and is reported to be in a critical condition. Community members provided valuable assistance to the officers by supplying information on the direction the suspect fled.

Through diligent investigation, the police eventually located an individual matching the description of the suspect. This 17-year-old male was observed running near the intersection of 195th Avenue and Eagle Ridge. Notably, he was not wearing any footwear.

Upon further examination, the officers concluded that this young man was responsible for operating the car that collided with the pedestrian and has since been taken into custody. He is facing charges of vehicular assault, which is classified as a serious offense.
