Fatal Leon Creek car crash death of Rosalio Aguilera
A series of deadly collisions unfolded on July 17 on Interstate 35 near Leon Creek, resulting in five fatalities and numerous injuries. The initial impact occurred when a stolen white automobile struck a smaller motor coach bus, triggering a chain of events that led to further tragedy.
The bus, which was owned and run by Transportes Guerra from Fort Worth, was traveling to Mexico with scheduled stops. During the incident, two individuals were killed at the scene, while others succumbed to their injuries later. Authorities identified one of the deceased as Jose “Tito†Hector Guerra, the company’s 50-year-old owner, who passed away in a hospital.
Rosalio Aguilera, a 69-year-old victim, was pronounced dead immediately after the collision due to severe trauma from the crash. The medical examiner reported that he suffered blunt force injuries, consistent with the accident’s violent nature. Another person, Judith Brooks Paulsel at 79 years old, died recently at a hospital after complications from her wounds.
Multiple suspects fled the area on foot following the collision, and reports indicate one may have been armed. No captures have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The victims included a range of ages, from young children to elderly adults, with emergency services transporting many to local hospitals for treatment.
In the aftermath, most injured patients have since been released from University Hospital, with only a few remaining in stable condition. This accident underscores the dangers of high-speed pursuits and the importance of road safety in the region.
