Fatal Bluefield motorcycle crash death of Joseph Scott
Tragically, on Wednesday afternoon, a man from Bluefield lost his life in a severe motorcycle accident. According to statements released by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Joseph Scott, who was 21 years old, was riding his motorcycle on Route 52 in the southbound direction close to Brushfork. At that moment, a GMC pickup truck, which had veered into the northbound lane from Labrador Drive, struck his vehicle. The collision occurred in the northbound lane and was recorded at approximately 6:22 p.m. Following the incident, emergency services brought Scott to the PCH Bluefield Emergency Department, but he unfortunately did not survive the serious injuries he sustained.
No legal action has been initiated against anyone in connection with this accident, and the driver of the pickup truck has provided cooperation. Preliminary tests showed that the truck driver was not impaired by drugs or alcohol. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a thorough probe into the crash, with its Crash Reconstruction Unit examining the scene to determine the exact causes and factors involved in the incident.
