Fatal Wilmington car crash death of Mathew Haskins

Local law enforcement in Wilmington is examining a fatal collision that led to the death of 33-year-old resident Mathew Haskins. The Wilmington Police Department confirmed the incident transpired on Saturday, July 19th, at approximately 3:30 PM, close to the junction of Lennon Drive and Market Street.

Police officials stated that Haskins was hit by another automobile while he was walking in the vicinity. After being taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, he unfortunately passed away from his injuries. The person driving the vehicle involved remained at the scene and assisted the responding officers. Wilmington PD’s traffic division is still looking into the events of that day.
