Fatal Louisville shooting death of Dunia Tuhenya

A 15-year-old youth faces formal charges including murder after being apprehended last Friday. This legal action stems from the fatal gunshot wound inflicted upon 17-year-old Dunia Tuhenya within the Newburg neighborhood of Louisville.

According to reports received by the Louisville Metro Police Department, the incident transpired on July 15th in the 300 block area of Poplar Level Court. Police officers responding to the disturbance found Dunia Tuhenya suffering from a serious injury to his chest region. He was provided emergency medical care at a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later.

The minor suspect is currently being prosecuted for multiple offenses beyond the murder charge. These additional allegations include the unlawful ownership of a handgun, the deliberate manipulation of evidence, and showing resistance towards law enforcement officers.

Considering the suspect’s young age, authorities have chosen not to release additional personal information regarding the minor individual involved.
