Fatal San Antonio car crash death of Judith Paulsen
A tragic multi-car collision on I-35 has claimed the lives of five individuals, according to the Bexar County Coroner’s Office. The fatal accident occurred on July 17th at approximately 2:45 PM in the southbound lanes of the highway, near the Cassin Road overpass close to the interchange with Loop 410. Initial reports from San Antonio authorities indicated the crash was initiated by a stolen white Chevrolet Camaro colliding with a bus that was towing a trailer. The bus subsequently collided with a guardrail and was struck by an 18-wheeler, resulting in the vehicle rolling over and ejecting several occupants.
Identifications provided by the medical examiner’s office include Judith Paulsen, age 79, and Alicia Cisneros Gonzales, age 42. Two additional victims, Rosalio Aguilera, 69, and Jose Guerra, 50, were identified on Friday. One individual involved in the accident remains unidentified at this time. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus initially reported that four people, including someone possibly armed with an assault rifle, fled the scene after the initial collision. The official police report, however, states that an unspecified number of individuals exited the Camaro without mentioning whether any were armed.
Emergency services responded swiftly, with the San Antonio Fire Department reporting that eight people suffered severe injuries requiring immediate medical attention. A total of 13 others sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene or transported to area hospitals. The ages of the injured ranged from young children to older adults. University Health facilities treated 15 patients related to the incident, with two fatalities occurring on Thursday. As of Monday, July 21st, the hospital confirmed that a child and an adult are in stable condition, while another adult remains in fair condition.
