A family in Harnett County is experiencing profound grief following the fatal shooting of Yoashica Johnson during a house party in Lillington. The accused, Moashaun Bristow, was on bail at the time of the incident, despite being charged with a prior homicide.
Further details indicate that Johnson was one of several guests at a large gathering located on Bethea Road. According to reports, shots were fired and Johnson was struck, leading to her death at the scene. Two other individuals sustained injuries during the disturbance.
Moashaun Bristow, the 27-year-old man accused of firing the shots, had outstanding charges from a 2021 shooting incident that resulted in a fatality. Following the current shooting, Bristow was apprehended and formally accused of first-degree murder.
The cousin of the deceased, Lakela Bell-Mclean, described the horrific scene, stating that Johnson was not at the party for long before gunfire erupted. She emphasized that Johnson was immediately pronounced dead after being hit by one of the bullets.
Family members, including Johnson’s spouse and son, were present at the residence when the shooting occurred. Bell-Mclean expressed that the event left lasting emotional trauma on everyone involved.
