Fatal Mesquite shooting death of Brandon Lil Wayne McGhee
Mesquite authorities report that a youth was killed and a companion suffered injuries in a shooting at a residence. The Mesquite Police Department reported receiving a call regarding a shooting on the evening of July 24th at Pecan Creek Drive. Upon arrival, personnel found a minor with a wound from a bullet; medical assessment indicated the injury was not immediately life-threatening. A separate investigation revealed that a 16-year-old, identified as Brandon Lil Wayne McGhee, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Further examination led detectives to identify a third minor, aged 15, as the individual responsible for the fatal shots fired. This suspect was apprehended later, on the morning of July 26th. The Mesquite law enforcement agency has confirmed that their probe into the incident is currently active, and they are seeking information from the public to assist in their inquiry.
