Fatal Wareham car crash death of Raymond Cardoza
Law enforcement officials have formally charged Raymond Cardoza, a 67-year-old resident of West Wareham, following a serious traffic incident Friday in Wareham. He is currently being held without bail pending trial.
The official office of the District Attorney for Plymouth County announced charges on Saturday afternoon. These charges include vehicular manslaughter while under the influence, a fourth offense of operating under the influence, failing to stop after a crash involving injury or death, and driving with a suspended license.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz informed the public that Wareham police received multiple emergency calls around 5:05 p.m. on Friday about a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Cranberry Highway near the 2628 marker. When emergency personnel arrived, they found the motorcycle driver injured on the ground.
The motorcycle driver, who was later confirmed to be 25-year-old Jordan Hansen, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to District Attorney Cruz, Cardoza and his vehicle were located approximately 0.25 miles from the initial collision site.
