Richard Gilbert dies in fatal WALLKILL car crash
Fatal WALLKILL car crash death of Richard Gilbert
Town authorities announced that the Town of Wallkill Police Department has identified the individual who passed away in a vehicle incident last Sunday on Route 17K near the exit 116 Route 17 off ramp. The fatality was identified as a Middletown man named Richard Gilbert.
Law enforcement personnel located the deceased, Richard Gilbert, at approximately 9:39 a.m. He was found unconscious while inside his car. Police indicated that Mr. Gilbert was suffering from anaphylactic shock when officers arrived. This condition reportedly caused him to move his vehicle into the eastbound lane. A collision with a utility pole subsequently occurred.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene. Mr. Gilbert was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. Upon arrival at the medical facility, it was confirmed that he had been pronounced dead.
