Law enforcement personnel were sent to the Extended Stay Hotel situated on Cornell Road in Hillsboro following notifications of shots being fired at approximately 5 p.m. on August 1. When they arrived, the officers determined that a homicide had taken place. The person who passed away was 44-year-old Yuri Gonzalez-Gonzalez, who is from Florida, and the individual in custody is 33-year-old Amir Heidar from Beaverton. The connections between the suspect and the victim are still unknown. It has been stated by the responsible agencies that there is no present danger, and the investigation is still in progress.
