Fatal Allentown car crash death of Stanley Aviles-Espaillat
Law enforcement officials have confirmed the identity of the young man killed in the recent fatal high-speed crash reported for Sunday morning in Allentown. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office officially identified the deceased individual, Stanley Aviles-Espaillat, a 25-year-old from Allentown. Medical personnel pronounced Stanley Aviles-Espaillat dead shortly after 8:15 a.m. Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem.
The Coroner’s Office determined that Stanley Aviles-Espaillat’s death resulted from multiple blunt force traumas and ruled the incident an accident. Allentown Police Captain Stephen J. Milkovits III detailed the circumstances of the fatal crash, which occurred around 3:20 a.m. The accident happened in the 300 block of West Tilghman Street. According to police, Mr. Aviles-Espaillat was traveling east on Tilghman Street at a notably fast speed when he crossed into the opposite path of oncoming traffic. An oncoming vehicle was involved in the collision, with the other driver attempting a U-turn at the time. Investigators discovered Mr. Aviles-Espaillat unconscious in the road and provided emergency medical services before transporting him to the hospital.
Captain Milkovits confirmed that the other driver involved remained at the scene and is assisting with the ongoing investigation. The multi-agency investigation includes the Allentown Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
