Fatal Dimondale car crash death of Dr. Peter Luea
The Dimondale Police Department is investigating a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on Monday afternoon.
The collision occurred around 4 p.m. on Lincoln Lake Avenue NE, located north of 16 Mile Road.
A 53-year-old man from Dimondale was killed when he was hit by a pickup truck while jogging. Medical examiners confirmed his death at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck contacted emergency services and stayed at the site of the accident until help arrived.
The ongoing investigation is being handled by the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.
Due to the tragic incident, the McLaren Greater Lansing clinic where Dr. Luea worked was closed on Tuesday. They have announced plans to reopen for Wednesday operations.
