Fatal Regina homicide death of Brando Peji
A third individual has been formally accused in relation to the death of 53-year-old Brando Peji in Regina. Darcy Manitopyes, who is 19 years old, has been arrested and faces charges including manslaughter, unlawful detention, and violating the terms of a release directive. Manitopyes made his initial court appearance at Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday.
Forty-eight-year-old Terrina Pelletier is also facing charges in this case, specifically first-degree murder. Additionally, Bradley Gardiner, who is nineteen, has been charged with manslaughter and unlawful detention alongside Manitopyes.
Regina police located Peji’s body on July 14 after receiving a report concerning the 3,000 block of Fourth Avenue in the North Central area of the city. During the investigation into Peji’s death, a plainclothes Regina police officer discharged a firearm, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old man on July 18. According to preliminary findings from the province’s Serious Incident Response Team, the two officers involved approached the suspect in an alleyway and issued verbal commands before the suspect was killed. The specific identity of the 29-year-old remains undisclosed by authorities.
The officer involved in the shooting incident is currently suspended from duty and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. This marks the seventh homicide recorded in Regina during the year 2025.
