Nampa, Idaho — A 57-year-old Nampa resident has been identified by the local Coroner following a serious multi-vehicle crash on the 32-mile marker of eastbound I-84 on July 31st.
Thursday afternoon, July 31st, saw four cars collide near milepost 32 west of Nampa around 6 p.m. The first vehicle involved was a 2005 Honda Pilot traveling westbound, driven by a 57-year-old Boise man. This Honda Pilot struck the driver’s side of a 2014 Toyota Tacoma.
The driver of the 2014 Toyota Tacoma, a 59-year-old woman from Star, Idaho, then crashed into the cement barrier dividing the highway. The impact with the median caused the Honda Pilot to lose control. It overcorrected, entering the eastbound lanes where it collided head-on with another 2024 Toyota Tacoma.
The driver of the eastbound 2024 Toyota Tacoma, a 50-year-old man from Nyssa, Oregon, was struck on the driver’s side by a 2017 Ford van. The van was being operated by a 45-year-old man from Kingsport, Tennessee, traveling eastbound on I-84 at the time.
Emergency responders closed eastbound I-84 for approximately four hours while they worked to clear the scene. The multi-vehicle collision is currently being examined by the Idaho State Police.
