Fatal West Bridgewater car crash death of Nataliya O’Connell
An 18-year-old female driver, identified as Nataliya O’Connell, passed away following a serious collision on Route 24 in West Bridgewater. The District Attorney’s office confirmed her death occurred on August 2nd.
According to the District Attorney’s office, Ms. O’Connell was operating her vehicle southbound on Route 24 around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The office reported she collided with another automobile. Subsequently, her vehicle crossed into the opposing lane, impacting the median barrier, before rolling onto its side. Emergency medical services responded promptly and transported her to a regional Boston hospital via helicopter. Regrettably, she succumbed to her trauma later that week.
The accident temporarily closed a portion of Route 24 to facilitate the helicopter landing and emergency medical transport. Massachusetts State Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. As of Monday, August 8th, a GoFundMe campaign had collected contributions from 502 individuals exceeding $35,000 to assist the family with funeral expenses. O’Connell’s boyfriend, Matthew Murphy, described her as possessing a kind and generous spirit, stating she fiercely loved her loved ones and bravely fought against her injuries until her passing.
