Illinois authorities confirmed that a Hinsdale resident was involved in a tragic incident on the Dan Ryan Expressway. The fatal accident occurred during the early morning hours of August 6th at approximately 1:46 a.m., specifically in the outbound lanes near 95th Street.
According to the Illinois State Police, the deceased was the driver involved in the collision. After exiting his car, the Hinsdale man was struck by another vehicle. Reports indicate the second car was a white Kia that passed the scene.
Emergency services transported the injured individual to a local hospital, but despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the deceased was established as Alassane Tchandikou, a 47-year-old resident of Hinsdale.
The occupants of the white Kia were identified, leading to the apprehension of 34-year-old Marques D. Worrell from Chicago. He was subsequently arrested and faces charges including aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, which authorities allege resulted in the death.
