Amarillo law enforcement identified the individual who passed away in a one-car accident on West Amarillo Boulevard on Monday. The Amarillo Police Department received a call about the crash around 2:30 p.m. At that time, officers found a tan-colored 2003 GMC Yukon flipped over within the central divider. According to police, the Yukon was heading westbound when the driver unexpectedly crossed the median barrier. The driver oversteered, causing the vehicle to lose control and roll into the median. The sole occupant, identified as 43-year-old Allen Alexander Armstrong, was ejected from the vehicle. Armstrong died at the scene from his crash injuries. Amarillo police have announced that an autopsy will be conducted. The Amarillo Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit is examining the incident.
