Fatal Colorado Springs motorcycle crash death of Matthew Campbell
Police in Colorado Springs announced on Tuesday, August 12th, that a motorcyclist, who later died in the hospital after a collision, has been identified as 26-year-old Matthew Campbell by the county coroner.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, emergency responders arrived at a traffic incident on Tuesday, July 29th, around 8:00 a.m. They found a motorcyclist with severe injuries. The injured rider was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
The ongoing police investigation revealed the details of the collision. It appears the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Academy Boulevard when a vehicle moving north on Academy Boulevard turned left onto Pace Drive in front of the motorcyclist.
Further updates from the police came on Thursday, July 31st. They reported that the motorcycle rider had succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Following his death, the coroner’s office performed an autopsy and officially identified the deceased as Matthew Campbell.
