The individual identified as the victim in the weekend fatal collision near East Meadow has been officially named. Police confirmed that Steven Diamond, who was 55 years old and lived in Farmingdale, lost their life in the two-vehicle incident on Sunday afternoon. According to law enforcement, the crash involved a 40-year-old female driver operating a 2012 Nissan Maxima heading north on Carman Avenue. This driver collided head-on with a 2024 Nissan Altima being operated by a 57-year-old female at the Salisbury Park Drive intersection. Police reported that Diamond was a passenger in the Altima alongside another 56-year-old woman. The occupants of the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local medical center for examination. The preliminary inquiry into the cause of this collision is currently underway.
