Fatal Woodbridge vehicle submersion death of Luz Maria Amado Basilio, Esteban Alcantara Gerardo, Julio Reyes Corraltitlan, and Leocadio Reyes Guillermo

Identifications have been confirmed by officials in San Joaquin County concerning four fatalities caused by a submerged automobile. The individuals, aged between twenty and forty-five, hailed from Stockton, Mexico, or were residents of the region. Details regarding this incident surfaced following a submerged car event.

Early on the morning of August 4th, emergency services were dispatched to Rindge Road, situated to the south of Eight Mile Road. Firefighters with the Woodbridge Fire District reported that the first reports indicated a car partially underwater in a nearby location. The situation was described as being just below the water’s surface.

Upon arrival, authorities found the submerged motor vehicle. Initial efforts involved locating individuals within the car. A preliminary report stated that two passengers were located and transported to the hospital under urgent medical care. Tragically, these two individuals later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, a team from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, equipped with diving gear, retrieved the other two victims from the submerged vehicle. Medical examiners pronounced them dead at the scene.
