Fatal Yorktown bicycle crash death of Jeremy Solomon
Police officially confirmed the identity of the cyclist killed Thursday morning in a serious accident. The deceased was identified as 44-year-old Jeremy Solomon from Irvington.
According to official reports released Friday, Solomon was crossing Route 134 on foot or bicycle when he was struck by a passing motor vehicle shortly before 7:47 a.m. Thursday. The precise nature of his movement leading into the collision is still under review.
Yorktown authorities dispatched multiple emergency services to the location following the incident. These included Yorktown Police, New Castle Police, the Empress Emergency Medical Team, and local fire departments from Yorktown and Millwood.
Emergency medical personnel confirmed Solomon’s death at the scene. The individual operating the vehicle involved in the accident was a 21-year-old male from Yorktown. He received medical attention at Northern Westchester Hospital but was later released without further complications.
Preliminary examination of available video evidence indicated the vehicle driver had the right of way at the time of impact. Yorktown Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
