Police have confirmed the identity of the man killed in a two-car accident on the streets of South Austin last week, identifying him as 47-year-old Samson Seablom.

According to the Austin Police Department, Seablom died immediately at the scene of the crash. The accident occurred at 2:37 p.m. on August 11th, at the intersection of South 1st Street and West William Cannon Drive.

Previous media coverage reported one fatality in the crash at the intersection of South 1st and William Cannon.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was taken to a hospital for treatment. Additionally, a pedestrian who was struck by debris from the crash also received medical attention and was hospitalized. Police authorities have not disclosed the specific conditions of the injured individuals.

This incident represents the 60th fatality caused by a motor vehicle crash in Austin during the year 2025.
