Fatal moped crash death of Billy Wayne Ruppe in Cherokee County, S.C.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol announced that a collision has led to a fatality within Cherokee County, more than a week following the event.
According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on June 16 near the intersection of Beaverdam Road and Morris Road. A moped operator was heading south on Beaverdam Road when they collided with a deer. Tragically, the moped driver, identified as 59-year-old Billy Wayne Ruppe, passed away on June 20.
Further details state that the driver of the car involved, Melissa Rambo, who was 58 years old and from Statesville, also died, on June 24.
