Fatal Paint Mill Lake drowning death of Tony Ingargiola
Law enforcement authorities are currently examining the tragic incident involving Tony Ingargiola. The Indiana State Police, specifically their Putnamville District unit, initiated an official probe following the unfortunate event at Paint Mill Lake. This particular investigation was formally requested by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department on August 14, 2025.
The individual who passed away has been identified as Tony Ingargiola, a 47-year-old man from Cayuga, Indiana. The process of identifying Mr. Ingargiola was confirmed by Vigo County Coroner, Travis Norris, after a thorough autopsy examination was conducted at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
The ongoing investigation is being led by Indiana State Police Detective Colton Maynor alongside Chris Springstun from the state’s Department of Natural Resources. Significant support for this investigation is being provided by Trooper Bill Clark, and a team of Crime Scene Investigators, including Sergeants Michael Organ and Tim Rader from the Putnamville State Police Post.
