Law enforcement agencies have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost her life following the discovery of her automobile submerged in the Oswego River during the early hours of Sunday morning. According to information released by the Oswego Police Chief, Phil Cady, this twenty-four-year-old resident of Syracuse was declared deceased at the scene after rescue teams located her body within the submerged vehicle.

The fatal accident was found close to the intersection of West Schuyler and West First streets, as stated by the police chief. Emergency services and fire personnel arrived at the scene shortly after 3:39 a.m., initiating a search operation that led to the identification of the submerged car in waters approximately twenty-two feet deep.

Rakotonanahary was the only individual occupying the vehicle at the time of the incident. The events surrounding her death are currently being examined by investigators, who have not yet established the reasons behind the vehicle’s presence in the river or the duration it had been underwater.
