The Waco Police Department has classified this incident as a death under investigation. A spokesperson, Cierra Shipley, informed local news outlets that authorities were alerted on Monday morning after reports emerged about a Caravan floating in the river near Jefferson Avenue and University Parks Drive.

Emergency services, including the Waco Fire Department’s specialized Dive Team and Texas Game Wardens, were dispatched to the scene. Once the vehicle was carefully removed from the water using Tow King assistance, officers identified Bernabe inside. The authorities have notified the next of kin about the tragic discovery.
