Fatal Hyderabad drowning death of Enkarla Venkatesh and Mohammed Jahangir
Two individuals lost their lives when they accidentally fell into a swollen watercourse near the Tajpur area boundary. The tragic incident transpired on Tuesday afternoon, specifically around midday, in Bhongir mandal territory. The Hindu Bureau reports that the deceased were Enkarla Venkatesh, aged 48, who resided in Bhongir town, and Mohammed Jahangir, aged 52, from Tajpur village.
According to local law enforcement, the unfortunate occurrence was brought to their attention approximately at one in the afternoon. The two men, who had ventured out for recreational fishing, slipped and fell into the Chinneru stream. This water body was flowing at an unusually high level, primarily due to recent heavy downpours impacting the surrounding Hyderabad region.
The Bhongir police station registered an official case concerning this fatal accident, and ongoing investigations aim to gather further details. Authorities are strongly advising the local community to refrain from approaching or entering streams and small rivers that are currently elevated and dangerous because of persistent rainfall across the neighboring districts of Hyderabad.
