According to officials in Eloy, the man killed was Christopher Pendleton, who was being held at the Saguaro Correctional Center. The Idaho Department of Correction reported that Pendleton sustained fatal injuries following an altercation.
The prison management company, CoreCivic, confirmed the death was the result of an inmate attack. Details surrounding the incident were shared through a statement issued by the company. Correctional officers discovered Pendleton’s body at approximately 9:37 a.m. Mountain time. Emergency medical procedures were promptly initiated by the prison staff.
