Fatal Baton Rouge shooting death of Braxton Scott
Law enforcement authorities in Baton Rouge reported on Wednesday the death of a man initially shot earlier that week. Officials stated the man, Braxton Scott who was 38 years old, was the victim of a shooting incident.
Braxton Scott was reportedly struck by gunfire early Tuesday morning, specifically around 4:06 a.m. He was discovered by responding officers lying motionless on Marque Ann Drive, close to the area near Florida Boulevard. Emergency medical services transported the injured man to a healthcare facility, but he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Identifying the suspect led to the apprehension of Thomas King. Investigation teams secured the arrest of Thomas King with assistance from local law enforcement in Zachary and officials from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. King was taken into custody in Zachary.
According to official arrest documentation, Thomas King was formally processed for booking into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Charges filed against him included second-degree murder and misuse of weaponry, both stemming from this incident.
