Fatal Town of Milton car crash death of Jeffrey S. Booth

The unfortunate death occurred when a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) met with a serious accident on Tuesday, August 26th. The collision happened at approximately 10:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of East Vincent Road within the Town of Milton.

Mr. Booth, a resident of Port Charlotte, Florida, was 62 years old. He was a passenger on the vehicle involved in the incident. According to information released by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office, Mr. Booth was occupying the UTV at the time of the crash.

The driver of the UTV was identified as Daniel Sweeney Jr., who was 49 years old and lived in Edgerton. Mr. Sweeney received medical attention for injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was subsequently transported to a hospital. He faces two charges related to the incident: homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.

Mr. Sweeney appeared in Rock County Circuit Court on Friday. His cash bond was established at the sum of $50,000. His next scheduled court appearance is set for September 12th for a preliminary hearing.

Law enforcement agencies responded to the scene of the accident. These included the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Wisconsin State Patrol, emergency medical services provided by the Lakeside Fire Department, and officials from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources acting as wardens.

An autopsy was performed on Mr. Booth’s body on August 27th. The details of this examination were being reviewed as part of the ongoing crash investigation.
