Fatal Wando car crash death of Andre Myers
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the individual killed Saturday morning in a crash.
According to Chief Deputy Coroner Kelly Powell, the 22-year-old Andre Myers was transported to East Cooper Medical Center but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The crash occurred around 12:44 a.m. near the intersection of Clements Ferry Road and Cainhoy Village Road in Wando.
Master Trooper Brandon Bolt stated that a 2005 Honda Accord was involved in the incident. The driver was attempting to evade law enforcement when the vehicle left the roadway, striking a power pole and a tree.
The driver of the Honda Accord succumbed to their injuries, as confirmed by Trooper Bolt.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
