Emergency services rushed to Stonegate Manor Apartments in Port Arthur after a severe collision late Friday, where responders found an adult male deceased inside the car due to a bullet wound. The event took place around 8:00 p.m. in the 4100 block of Turtle Creek Drive.

Chief Tim Duriso of the Port Arthur Police Department confirmed that the deceased was 18-year-old Mikal White. According to the chief, authorities have identified the person involved in the shooting, and the investigation remains active.

Investigators are currently working to establish the exact manner and location of the fatal gunshot wound that caused White’s death. The police have requested the identification unit to aid in their ongoing probe.

Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett stated he intends to schedule an autopsy to delve deeper into the circumstances of White’s death.
